An easy to make tea time snack. Is quite appealing to the children's palette with the sweet stuffing of coconut and jaggery. It is quite appealing to the children's palette.
Ingredients:
Fine rice flour :250 gms.
Boiling water : 425 ml.
Salt :1/2 tsp
Filling
Grated coconut :250gms.
Jaggery :250gms.
Water :50ml.
Method of preparation:
• Boil water with the salt.
• Pour the Boiling water on to the rice flour and knead well to make a soft dough.
• Boil the jaggery with the water till it melts.
• Strain this into the coconut and cook till 3/4th dry.
• Make lime sized balls with the rice dough
• Using the fingers make a basket with the dough.
• Put in a teaspoon of the filling in the center and close the dough with the fingers to form a ball.
• Steam all the filled in baskets for 15 minutes.
