1. Melt the jaggery in 100 ml of water, Boil for a minute and strain.
2. Mix the jaggery with the 2nd extraction of coconut milk.
3. Add the ground cumin seed and mix well. Boil for sometime.
4. Add the ginger and cardamom powder.
5. Add the 1st extraction of coconut milk.
6. Add the rice flour mixed with 50 ml water and simmer till the syrup thickens a bit.
7. Never let it boil after the 1st extraction of coconut milk has been added.
8. Add salt to taste. Remove from fire.
9. Serve along with the Appam.
